Position Summary:
We are seeking a Digital Payload System Engineer to join our dynamic Satellite Systems team. This role is crucial in shaping the future of communication payloads and contributing to groundbreaking projects that enhance life on Earth and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support technical initiatives and systems engineering activities for telecommunications systems utilizing digital transponders.
- Design and develop communication satellite payloads, ranging from traditional RF systems to advanced digital processing payloads.
- Define system requirements and specifications for RF and digital components, including digital channel processors and multi-beam systems.
- Conduct thorough requirement analysis and system trade studies to optimize performance.
- Perform calculations for link budgets and evaluate satellite throughput to ensure optimal functionality.
- Establish and oversee methodologies, standards, and procedures for systems engineering tools and testing protocols for digital payloads.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in digital signal processing and equipment, with a strong understanding of RF systems.
- Proven experience in leading interdisciplinary engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is an asset.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Preference for Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
