Position Overview

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals in need of health care services. Your dedication and skills will contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
Work Environment
  • Located in a rural area.
  • Setting includes nursing homes and facilities for the elderly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assist with meal service and provide feeding support to patients.
  • Support patients with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Facilitate communication by delivering messages and reports between departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patients' living spaces.
  • Guide and supervise patients during their exercise routines.
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers as needed.
  • Respond to call signals to assess and address patients' needs.
  • Administer first aid in case of emergencies.
