We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for carrying out assigned functional accounting and maintaining the integrity of information within the accounting subsystem in Accounts Payable.
The successful candidate will respond to and serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors, ensuring that all interactions are professional and courteous. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health Authority, such as our vision, mission, values, strategic directions, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships, and interprofessional collaboration, are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that you do and through the messages you deliver.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in accounting and a minimum of three years of recent and related experience in a computerized SAP Accounts Payable environment. You will have a graduate degree in a recognized post-secondary business program with an emphasis in Accounting and excellent knowledge of Accounts Payable, Supply Chain Operations (Materials Management), and strong technical Accounting skills.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Accounting software. You will also have a strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out assigned functional accounting and maintain the integrity of information within the accounting subsystem in Accounts Payable.
- Respond to and serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors.
- Ensure that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health Authority are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that you do and through the messages you deliver.
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Accounting software to perform tasks and maintain records.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
We offer a competitive salary range of $28.24 - $31.15 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
