Procurement Specialist, Westech

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Westech. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and managing inventory levels to meet production requirements and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and purchase raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements by forecasting demand, analyzing material requirements, and implementing inventory management strategies to prevent shortages and excesses.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and ensure it aligns with physical stock and manage inventory turns and address slow-moving or excess inventory items.
- Evaluate, analyze supplier quotes, negotiate prices, and maintain relationships with vendors and assess supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Responsible for daily tracking, creating, and converting purchase requisitions into invoices for suitable vendors using the JDE - ERP system.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams for product development and production planning.
- Assist with planning and executing in-house manufactured work order and painted parts scheduling as per requirements.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Coordinate timely returns of rejected material and ensure that proper credit processes are followed.
- Resolve purchase order acknowledgement discrepancies with suppliers.
- Resolve supplier delivery problems contributing to production shortages.
- Post-secondary diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the Heavy Equipment/Industrial industry considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with inventory software and MS Office.
