Position: Sheet Metal Punch Press Technician

Are you detail-oriented and enthusiastic about working with metal components? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a punch press technician to take on a pivotal role within our organization. This position also provides the chance to advance your skills in punch press programming through our internal training programs.

The role operates on a day shift schedule, Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 4:15 pm and Friday from 7 am to noon. Reporting directly to the production supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include operating a punch press, making necessary adjustments, and producing components that meet exact specifications while ensuring a safe working environment.

Your key responsibilities as a punch press technician will encompass:

  • Assessing the quality of raw materials;
  • Ensuring adherence to technical drawings;
  • Programming the punch press;
  • Operating the machinery effectively;
  • Making necessary adjustments to the equipment;
  • Maintaining the quality of produced items;
  • Reporting any discrepancies or issues;
  • Following all safety protocols within the organization.

The qualifications necessary for this role include:

  • A vocational diploma in precision sheet metal work or equivalent experience in metal fabrication;
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software (beneficial for programming tasks);
  • Understanding of numerical control systems used in punch presses;
  • A strong sense of teamwork;
  • Capability to read and interpret production schematics;
  • Ability to maintain an efficient production pace;
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in working with imperial measurements (inches).
