Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled General Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH). As a community-based physician, you will provide comprehensive consultant in-patient and out-patient services, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily rounds on patients, ensuring timely discharge and facilitating effective care coordination.
  • Participate in hospital committees related to internal medicine, contributing to the development of medical services and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in teaching rounds, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and students.
  • Maintain a community office practice, providing accessible and convenient care to patients.
  • Respond promptly to on-call responsibilities, including consultations in the ER and inpatient units.
  • Utilize available resources, such as outpatient clinics, ECG and Holter Monitoring, and minor procedures, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in strategic planning, program development, and quality improvement activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and excellent patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license.
  • Fellowship in Plastic Surgery recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Competencies in the CanMEDS roles, including function as a consultant, establish and maintain clinical knowledge, perform complete assessments, use preventive and therapeutic interventions, demonstrate proficient procedural skills, and seek consultation when necessary.
