The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is looking for a dedicated and experienced Usma Youth Services Team Leader. This permanent, full-time role is crucial for overseeing and coordinating programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of a significant youth demographic, particularly at-risk individuals aged 13-27. The Team Leader will collaborate closely with Nuu-chah-nulth communities to assess youth requirements and facilitate the organization of activities and training necessary for the advancement of Youth Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the service delivery provided by the Youth Outreach Worker, Youth Harm Reduction Workers, and Youth Navigators, ensuring effective scheduling and regular outreach within the designated areas.
  • Supervise the SAJE program and other support initiatives for youth transitioning to adulthood.
  • Engage with NTC Nations and various NTC departments to enhance youth-focused services.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings and offer individual consultations as required.
  • Design, implement, and assess programming. Seek funding opportunities and prepare financial documentation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning aimed at addressing existing gaps in youth services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or Mental Health and Addictions, or equivalent education and experience comparable to a master's degree.
  • Experience managing a Guardianship caseload, especially in relation to Post Majority Supports.
  • A minimum of three years in a supervisory role, demonstrating strong mentorship capabilities in challenging situations.
  • C4 delegation is required.
  • Familiarity with Nuu-chah-nulth governance, culture, and traditions, or being a First Nations individual will be considered advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport.
  • Training in trauma-informed care and attachment theory.
  • Possession of a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license is necessary due to travel requirements.
  • Must provide satisfactory references and undergo a criminal record check.

Work Schedule

This position requires in-person attendance and follows a Monday to Friday schedule.
