Process Engineering Specialist

Boccard Life Sciences, a global industrial integrator operating in 35 countries, specializes in designing, manufacturing, assembling, and installing process solutions for clients across the Food & Ingredients, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, and Brewing sectors.
Position: Project EngineerWe are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to support the growth of our process integration business in the USA and Canada.
The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in developing and executing efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes and facilities that meet customer requirements, adhere to good manufacturing practices, and comply with quality, safety, hygiene standards, and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee engineering projects by organizing and managing project components.
- Compile an equipment list based on validated P&ID.
- Conduct standard technical calculations and sizing for comprehensive projects or specific areas within liquid processing projects in Food, Dairy, Beverage, Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical, or Brewery sectors.
- Create related specifications and assist in the RFQ process, including offer analysis and technical comparison to aid in supplier selection.
- Manage purchase order requisitions and collaborate with the supply chain for supplier follow-up.
- Support Project Managers, Site Managers, and Engineering Managers in design reviews (P&ID, drawings, 3D models).
- Oversee and execute material control upon receipt.
- Ensure project completion within budget, specifications, and scheduling constraints.
- Prepare technical bid packages for mechanical installation of process equipment, platforms, pipe racks, piping, and other industrial components, following project scope, generated drawings, internal guidelines, customer standards, and applicable regulations.
- In collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and Project Manager, distribute bid packages to qualified contractors and conduct technical alignment of received proposals.
- Provide recommendations for contractor selection and bid awards.
- Facilitate coordination between onsite contractors and customer representatives (e.g., safety manager, construction manager, production).
- Monitor contractor compliance with contract scope and quality criteria, document nonconformities when necessary, and ensure implementation of agreed-upon action plans.
B.S. in Food Processing, Agricultural, Biological, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other data entry software.
- Adaptability and a strong desire to learn and exceed assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks without constant oversight.
- Strong interest in technical tasks and willingness to engage in fieldwork.
- Capability to perform heat and mass balances, as well as calculate and verify pump and piping sizing.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational abilities.
