This position reports directly to the Director of Global Data Integration within Enterprise Architecture. You will collaborate closely with the data services team, fellow architects, technical developers, platform administrators, and subject matter experts across various business domains, including external specialists. Your primary responsibility will be to establish global guidelines for technical data warehouse architecture and project solution architecture for innovative, data-driven solutions, working both independently and in conjunction with other architects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and construct the target data architecture, including blueprints, standards, and solution architectures that support Nutrien's business framework and facilitate data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics.
  • Implement the target data architecture by identifying potential roadmap components based on the discrepancies between baseline and target data architectures.
  • Establish comprehensive standards and patterns throughout the data warehouse solution lifecycle, from development to maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the broader architecture community, various business units, and development teams to effectively manage the organization's data assets.
  • Provide mentorship to team members and peers in similar roles across the department.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a post-secondary degree from a recognized university.
  • Over 8 years of combined experience in delivering solutions and hands-on data roles within a large-scale, diverse IT environment.
  • Technical expertise across multiple technology domains, with an understanding of how these technologies are applied across various business functions and industries to create business value.
  • Previous experience with technologies such as SAP HANA for data warehousing, various databases, BI/reporting technologies, and ERP systems.
  • Profound knowledge of Data Warehousing principles and prior experience in DW & BI environments.
  • Familiarity with traditional data architecture frameworks (e.g., DMBOK) or certifications (e.g., CDMP/CBIP), as well as broader Enterprise Architecture concepts (e.g., TOGAF) is advantageous.
  • A passion for technology and its application in solving real-world challenges, with a particular interest in technologies that enhance data access and visibility. Proficiency in SQL and experience in building ELT/ETL data pipelines is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a determination to resolve complex issues through multiple approaches. A commitment to developing sustainable architectures and solutions that have a long-term impact on the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for presenting ideas clearly. Enjoyment in collaborating with diverse teams while maintaining high visibility and efficiency.
  • Strong business analysis capabilities, adept at asking the right questions to uncover core issues and leveraging relationships across IT and business to drive compelling data warehouse architecture.
