Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President of Treasury will be responsible for the strategic oversight of funding, lending, collateral management, cost of funds, and capital allocation. This role will focus on driving innovation and improving operational efficiencies across various business lines while managing a significant funding portfolio exceeding $10 billion in both Canadian and US Dollar deposits, commercial paper, and medium-term notes. Close collaboration with the Treasury Director is essential to ensure effective liquidity and funding management on a daily basis, along with maintaining strong relationships within the dealer community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance financial returns through effective management of funding, lending, and collateral portfolios while identifying efficiencies and fostering innovation in existing processes.
- Develop and implement Central 1's funding strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and analyses detailing funding metrics, strategies, opportunities, and risks to various committees.
- Manage relationships with capital market participants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the Director of Treasury, Cash Manager, and Liability Manager.
- Review and address risk management reports and funding policies.
- Ensure reliable collateral and custodial services are provided to clients.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in financial markets or treasury management within financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of money markets, repo trading, funding structures, debt issuance, and collateral management.
- Knowledge of industry best practices related to cost of funds and capital allocation models.
- Proficient in quantitative techniques, analytical skills, and cash management.
- Ability to manage risks and returns associated with funding and cash management portfolios.
- Experience in leading teams of financial market professionals.
- Operational knowledge of capital markets.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Advanced skills in fixed income, financial modeling, and data management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Understanding of capital markets etiquette and relationship-building with financial professionals.
- Proven leadership skills in motivating and guiding successful teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Attention to detail is critical, as accuracy will significantly impact Central 1's performance.
Salary: $150K-180K
The salary reflects the compensation for a fully competent candidate in this role. Actual salary may vary based on market conditions and relevant job-related factors.
