About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter & Pre-Occupancy Specialist to join our team at Brookfield Properties. As a key member of our construction operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily quality control inspections of residential units under construction to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
  • Identify and report construction issues and trends affecting build quality, and work with trade partners to rectify deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Audit installed interior and exterior finish materials, building life systems, fixtures, and appliances for fit, finish, and function.
  • Maintain regular communication with Site Managers regarding the status of homes and identify and resolve technical or workmanship problems.
  • Complete job-specific detailing and support other aspects of construction operations as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe site at all times, including ensuring sub-contractors and trades keep site cleanliness and safe work practice expectations a priority.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of general residential construction experience or an active participant in an apprenticeship program or equivalent interior finishing trade experience.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and computer skills required.
  • Valid Driver's License and vehicle required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
