Your Opportunity:

As a Child and Youth Development Specialist with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment, and follow-up services to children and youth in the community, educational system, and/or hospital setting who are at risk of or have a disability, and/or have a significant developmental delay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide family-centered care, creating, implementing, and updating family service plans specific to child/youth needs.
  • Observe, identify, and report child developmental or behavior difficulties and make recommendations to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Liaise with and provide referrals to other disciplines and external agencies as appropriate.
  • Provide information and education regarding child/youth development to parents, education providers, other interprofessionals, and the community.
  • Support family funding and education/services placement applications and maintain printed resources and equipment for child and adolescent programs.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Child & Youth Care or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Additional trainings such as Circle of Security training and other group facilitation certifications relevant to our programming.
About the Role:

This position has been identified for transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying for this role, you will be considered for the transition.
