Position Overview:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and personnel. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting regular security patrols and responding promptly to incidents.
  • Exhibiting exceptional customer service skills while assisting individuals in distress or requiring medical help.
  • Maintaining physical fitness to effectively perform duties that require prolonged standing and walking.
  • Executing a range of preventative and responsive tasks, including interior and exterior patrols across the organization’s premises.
  • Utilizing appropriate measures under the Mental Health Act when necessary.
  • Providing escort services for staff and visitors upon request.
  • Offering vehicle assistance to staff and visitors as needed.
  • Keeping accurate logs and records of all activities and service calls during your shift.
  • Writing detailed reports following investigations or significant incidents in a timely manner.
  • Investigating incidents, managing follow-ups, and reviewing CCTV footage as required.
  • Addressing rule violations by warning individuals and, if necessary, removing them from the premises.
  • Handling various administrative tasks, including ID badge issuance, key management, and lost and found services.
Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • A degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services is an asset.
  • Up-to-date immunization records (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR Level C.
  • Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). Candidates without these certifications may participate in Paladin's training program prior to onboarding, with associated costs covered by the company, contingent upon a six-month commitment to the position.
