Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Services Officer to enhance our dynamic branch operations.
Job Purpose & Summary
The Financial Services Officer (FSO) is essential in guiding our Members to do more, be more, and achieve more with their finances. The FSO builds strong relationships with Members, comprehends their objectives, and delivers comprehensive financial advice across a variety of DUCA products and services to help them realize these aspirations. Additionally, the FSO contributes to business development with existing and prospective Members through branch initiatives and community engagement. The FSO also plays a leadership role within our advisory teams, providing guidance and support to colleagues in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with Members by asking insightful questions to uncover their life events, financial circumstances, risk tolerance, and both short- and long-term goals.
- Proactively offer needs-based advice by crafting and presenting tailored financial solutions that align with Members' objectives.
- Utilize effective interviewing, judgment, and analytical skills to identify and recommend credit solutions within established guidelines, including mortgages, loans, lines of credit, and credit cards.
- Provide sound investment advice and identify suitable solutions such as registered and non-registered term deposits, TFSAs, mutual funds, and other wealth management options, while staying informed about economic and market trends.
- Open new Member accounts and offer additional banking solutions to fulfill Member needs.
- Generate referrals for more complex financial needs to our Commercial or Wealth Management teams.
- Deliver exceptional Member service by nurturing relationships, maintaining regular communication, and providing timely responses along with valuable information and advice.
- Work towards achieving or surpassing individual and branch goals, always prioritizing the best interests of our Members.
- Identify opportunities for business development within the community and attract new Members by establishing influential connections outside the branch and participating in community and branch events as a DUCA representative.
- Complete and process all tasks in compliance with guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial services sales environment, with at least 1 year in an advisory capacity demonstrating a successful sales record.
- Possession of a mutual funds license (e.g., IFIC) or actively pursuing one.
- Experience and knowledge of a variety of credit and investment products.

Salary: The annual salary range for this position starts at $56,172. Actual salaries will vary based on relevant job-related factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and education/training. Depending on the role, DUCA's total compensation package may include incentive compensation linked to company and individual performance or other benefits.
