About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team at 3059308 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building's systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Contractor Management: Coordinate with external contractors for repairs and maintenance of the building, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Appliance Repair: Conduct minor repairs on appliances and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Safety and Security: Conduct regular safety and security checks to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Physical Labor: Perform tasks that require physical effort, such as moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, as well as cleaning snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Plant Care: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Initiative and Judgment: Work with minimal supervision, using your initiative and judgment to resolve issues and make decisions.
