Steel Construction Technician

The Steel Construction Technician is primarily tasked with the structural upkeep and maintenance of various attractions within the West Edmonton Mall.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough inspections of all amusement rides located in the Galaxyland Amusement Park. Engage in the fabrication and installation of steel components throughout the West Edmonton Mall. Perform corrosion maintenance on steel frameworks at the World Waterpark. Execute painting, refurbishing, and maintenance tasks for all steel structures at the World Waterpark. Oversee the maintenance and refurbishment of all water slides within the World Waterpark. Manage equipment hoisting and relocation across various sites within the West Edmonton Mall. Operate aerial platform equipment during mall operations and assist various departments with a range of tasks and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

Possession of a valid Journeyman Ironworker certification, or be in the 3rd or 4th year of an Apprenticeship program. A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in the ironworking industry. Strong background in all facets of structural steel installation, fabrication, and hoisting. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Capability to work at heights, with a keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Must successfully pass a basic security clearance.

Employment Terms:

This position is full-time, requiring availability from Monday to Friday. Successful completion of a basic security clearance is mandatory.
