About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labour and Delivery unit at Sechelt Hospital. As a Perinatal Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing advanced perinatal nursing care to expectant clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of clients and provide individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on perinatal health and wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain expertise in perinatal nursing practices and stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based guidelines.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of a recognized advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing or two years' recent, related experience.
- Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model of care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
