About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Perinatal Nurse Specialist to join our Labour and Delivery team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced perinatal nursing care to expectant clients, conducting comprehensive nursing assessments and developing individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in perinatal care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting healthy behaviors and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a recognized advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing or two years' recent, related experience.
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model of care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
