Respiratory Therapist I Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist I to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory therapy techniques and best practices.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and registered with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists.
- Current Basic Life Support certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records.
