Job Title: Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Argcon Group Inc. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered, mixing and applying adhesives, setting tiles in place, and aligning and straightening tiles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring and marking areas to be covered.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar, cement, and mastic, to ensure a strong bond between tiles and surfaces.
  • Set tiles in place, applying pressure to affix them to the base.
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a level and even surface.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite.
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
  • Install tile strips.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a physically demanding environment, requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination are essential skills for this role.

Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in tile setting or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent client service.
  • Dependability, judgement, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
