KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for conducting psychological evaluations, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions for individuals of all ages facing eating disorders and associated mental health challenges, in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team.

The Clinical Psychologist also offers continuous psychological support to families and caregivers of referred individuals.

As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Psychologist delivers evidence-based treatment to clients while collaborating with fellow team members and community stakeholders.

Additional related responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology, particularly with adolescents, adults, and families;
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario;
  • Relevant experience and training suitable for an outpatient environment within a brief acute care framework, ideally in a hospital context;
  • Extensive training and experience in treating eating disorders in both adolescent and adult demographics;
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, along with individual and group therapy capabilities;
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, both written and verbal;
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively with community partners; strong consultation skills are essential;
  • Experience in research and program evaluation;
  • Commitment to a client-centered approach;
  • Ability to maintain a progressive, positive, and professional demeanor throughout the organization and community;
  • Solid understanding of the Mental Health Act of Ontario;
  • A satisfactory performance record is required;
  • Commitment to the core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy;
  • Understanding and commitment to comprehensive safety programs and practices, including participation in regular training sessions;
  • A proven record of good attendance with the ability to sustain this standard;

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

The terms of employment are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.

Successful external candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the last six months.
