Your Role

Englobe is seeking a Geotechnical Borehole Drilling Supervisor to oversee operations in our Southwestern Ontario offices. Reporting to the Team Leader, your responsibilities will include conducting site investigations and geotechnical drilling to assess soil and rock properties that support engineering designs and environmental assessments. Your specific duties will encompass:

  • Collecting and documenting factual field data in accordance with specifications and job instructions;
  • Identifying soil types and characteristics while taking samples at designated depths;
  • Planning borehole layouts and coordinating locates;
  • Managing traffic control operations and developing traffic control plans;
  • Supervising subcontracted drilling activities for various projects;
  • Determining appropriate drilling methods for specific tasks;
  • Maintaining detailed boring and coring logs of data and samples collected;
  • Returning labeled and organized field samples to the laboratory;
  • Communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and supervisors;
  • Promoting and adhering to safe work practices;
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant drilling experience;
  • Strong communication skills with project managers and clients;
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
  • Familiarity with geotechnical borehole field logs and their role in preparing reports;
  • Experience with inspections and on-site material testing is advantageous;
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town, including overnight and weekends as necessary;
  • OTM Book 7 training is a plus;
  • Possession of a Class G Driver's license with a clean driving record;
  • Access to a personal vehicle;
  • Knowledge of GINT software is beneficial;
  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety.
