Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Risk Management Specialist to join our team at BC Ferries. As a key member of the Finance Division, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's long-term financial sustainability.
The Opportunity
As a Financial Risk Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial risk management policies and strategies, including liquidity management, funding optimization, and risk mitigation. You will work closely with the Treasurer to provide strategic and tactical advice on asset and liability management programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on financial risk management and treasury matters to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Develop and manage relationships with banking groups, credit agencies, external funding sources, and suppliers.
- Oversee all cash, debt, investment, derivative activity, and carbon credit generation and execution.
- Diversify funding sources and long-term debt programs, including liquidity, alternative funding, and carbon credit opportunities.
- Develop and manage long-term ESG financial frameworks, including ESG financing.
- Lead and coach a professional team in the delivery of best financial risk management practices.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of debt capital markets and capital structure strategy, financial forecasting, and financial risk management. You will also have a proven track record of strategic problem-solving and leadership experience in a similar role.
What We Offer
