As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues with windows and doors, ensuring customer satisfaction and upholding the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
Responsibilities:- Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance of windows and doors in residential settings.
- Diagnose issues with windows and doors, including hardware malfunctions, insulation/sealing problems, and installation issues.
- Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with consumers, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both on-site and in company vehicles, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.
- Collaborate with team members and managers to coordinate job assignments, schedule appointments, and ensure timely completion of service appointments.
- Document all service activities, including work performed, parts/material used, and any additional recommendations or follow-up required for each service request.
- Utilize computer skills effectively, including familiarity with data entry software, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new products related to windows and doors, and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities as needed.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, representing the company positively and courteously when interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operations of the service department and contribute to the success of the organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or vocational training in carpentry, construction, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 23 years of experience in window and door installation, repair, or service.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of window and door systems, including various materials, hardware, and installation techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose issues accurately and develop effective solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; ability to travel to job sites and transport equipment and materials as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer schedules and service requests.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and environments.
