About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Designer Brands. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a key role in leading our store environment and fostering a culture of inclusivity and customer connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume leadership role with accountability for maximizing store business results by consistently creating exceptional customer experiences.
  • Facilitate achievement of business results by role modeling a shopping experience that encourages uniquely responsive customer service, compelling merchandise presentation, and operational integrity that will encourage positive customer connections and loyalty.
  • Lead an operationally sound business by balancing company policies, procedures, shrink/loss prevention, payroll, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Recruit, manage, develop, and train top talent who have a passion for the retail industry.
  • Achieve company objectives and enhance the Designer Brands brand image by modeling our values of Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, and Authenticity/Humility.
  • Develop and implement agile business plans to achieve results.
  • Foster teamwork, collaboration, and change advocacy within the store and district.
  • Maintain effective, open lines of communication with the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven success in the achievement of sales and profitability targets.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including MS Word or other word processing program and Excel or other spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while also being committed to creating a compelling customer experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in progressive retail supervisory role.
  • Ability to work days, closing shifts, and weekends.
