Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Director, reporting directly to the VP of Operational Excellence and Quality, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Quality Team. This position is accountable for the development and execution of a robust quality management framework across Gateway Services Inc., ensuring consistent enhancement of quality standards. The Director will conduct regular assessments of company locations, processes, and quality-related procedures, analyze data to pinpoint issues and their resolutions, effectively communicate with facility staff to implement improvements, and prepare comprehensive reports for upper management.

This role also encompasses the management of Gateway's Supplier Quality Program, ensuring thorough evaluation of services and products, adherence to quality protocols, and ongoing enhancement of supplier quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement strategies and processes to enhance quality management.
  • Develop, review, and update all quality-related documentation, including operational training materials.
  • Champion best-in-class quality management methodologies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into quality management failures or non-compliance issues.
  • Establish effective quality planning and control processes.
  • Ensure critical inspections are executed with permanent corrective actions at the operational level.
  • Design products with quality standards in mind and regularly assess their effectiveness and quality.
  • Oversee and monitor quality project standards.
  • Ensure corrective action plans are established and adhered to during work inspections.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and improvement/savings evaluations periodically.
  • Define achievable and sustainable quality metrics that align with organizational objectives.
  • Gather client feedback, participate in meetings, submit reports, and assist auditors.
  • Contribute to the budget planning process.
  • Influence senior leadership to advance a quality-focused culture.
  • Facilitate meetings with field operations to collect detailed information about company procedures and practices aimed at driving improvements.
  • Engage with senior management to report and discuss quality control matters.
  • Train team members to uphold quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Devise innovative strategies for achieving high quality on complex assignments.
  • Manage and communicate expectations based on historical performance metrics, both quantitative and qualitative, as well as risks to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Quality Supplier Program in collaboration with Central Services, providing recommendations for support, compliance, and process enhancements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Excellence Team initiatives as needed, including content development, support, rollout, and training related to Operational Excellence goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in quality control, production, or service management within a manufacturing and distribution context.
  • Experience in developing a Quality Management System and implementing ISO9001 and ISO45001 standards.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
