About the Opportunity

Outlier is seeking talented English writers to help train generative artificial intelligence models. This freelance opportunity is remote and flexible, allowing you to work at your own pace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and rank English text produced by AI models
  • Write and rewrite prompts and responses, involving research and fact-checking
  • Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models
Desirable Expertise
  • Experience as a professional writer or editor
  • Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution
  • Strong sense of writing style paired with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar as well as logic and reasoning skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to explain clearly the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text
Payment

Pay rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. For example, higher rates may be offered to PhDs. For non-core work, such as during initial project onboarding or project overtime phases, lower rates may apply. Certain projects offer incentive payments.
