We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Coordinator to join our team at A & A Customs Brokers.

Job Summary:

The Customs Clearance Coordinator will be responsible for the prompt and accurate processing of customs clearances for our highway, rail, and ocean shipments electronically. This includes data entry, research, and communication with various stakeholders (customers, carriers, suppliers, Customs, and internal team members).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle general inquiries professionally over the phone, in person, or through email
  • Review documentation and prepare customs release entries for processing
  • Communicate with customers to clear shipments, close entries, provide updates, and resolve paperwork issues and customs holds
  • Handle and resolve difficult or challenging situations while maintaining first-class service to all internal and external customers
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all ports across the USA and Canada
  • Assign correct tariff classifications (HTSUS)
  • Assist in ensuring that all entries are released, classified, and billed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring that Canadian customs regulations are adhered to when completing import and export documents to facilitate the movement of cross-border shipments
Requirements:
  • Previous customs entry release experience
  • Experience processing entries across different modes of transportation (highways, rail, air, ocean) is an asset
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation or Licensed Customs Broker designation (LCB) is an asset
  • High work standards, high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and meet tight deadlines
  • Works well independently
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Quick learner and a desire to learn

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
