Selkirk College is seeking a dedicated instructor to facilitate courses focused on wildlife ecology and environmental management. The ideal candidate will conduct in-person classes covering subjects such as Introductory Wildlife Ecology and Ecosystem-Based Management. Key responsibilities include delivering instruction, formulating teaching methodologies, and actively participating in the college community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct courses on wildlife ecology and environmental management, incorporating both fieldwork and classroom instruction
  • Adhere to safety protocols during fieldwork
  • Design and implement teaching strategies to achieve course objectives
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental and program meetings
  • Revise curriculum in accordance with institutional guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Safeguard student confidentiality
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the School Chair

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in standard wildlife sampling methods and biodiversity assessment

Educational Background and Experience

  • Master's degree in Wildlife Ecology or a related discipline
  • Prior teaching experience in a post-secondary setting
  • Relevant industry experience in wildlife management is preferred
  • Experience working with indigenous communities is an asset
  • Registered Professional Biologist designation is advantageous
  • Possession of a valid driver's license

This position is part-time and offers compensation and benefits in accordance with the College Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
