Job Title: Project Engineer - Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at M & J Total Transport & Rigging Inc. in a Construction role.

Job Description:

Job Summary: The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. This includes coordinating with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct economic analyses and feasibility studies to determine project viability
  • Develop construction specifications and procedures to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Establish and monitor construction work schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Evaluate and recommend building and construction materials
  • Interpret and review survey and civil design work to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare contract documents and review tenders for construction projects
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers to ensure designs, calculations, and cost estimates are accurate and complete
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Determine contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor revenues to determine labor costs and ensure projects are completed within budget

Requirements:

  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
  • Proficient in Primavera, AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
