The successful candidate will possess a solid background in management, complemented by robust technical expertise in accounting and taxation, specifically tailored for private, owner-managed businesses within a public practice environment. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with clients and Partners to ensure the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, manage, and execute Compilation and Review engagements efficiently.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, ensuring compliance with ASPE through appropriate note disclosures.
- Review and finalize corporate and personal income tax returns alongside related financial statements.
- Identify and investigate potential solutions for technical challenges encountered during engagements.
- Monitor the progress of work on files, maintaining clear communication with team members and partners.
- Assess client needs and deliver outstanding service and guidance.
- Enhance client relationships and explore business development opportunities.
- Mentor, develop, and supervise intermediate and junior staff members.
Qualifications:
- Must be a qualified CPA with a minimum of two years of managerial experience in a public practice firm, focusing on Private Enterprise clients.
- In-depth experience in Canadian tax preparation for both personal and corporate tax returns, including various necessary filings.
- Proficiency in CaseWare and Taxprep; familiarity with QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, and other cloud-based applications is advantageous.
- Experience with review engagements is essential.
- Knowledge of US taxation is considered an asset.
