Role Overview

As a Tax Manager for Private Enterprise at KPMG Canada, you will be part of a diverse and dedicated team of problem solvers. Your role will involve working closely with KPMG Partners on tax planning initiatives and requirements. You will be responsible for directing the work of junior staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness, and researching and preparing tax-planning strategies for clients. Additionally, you will take the lead on the preparation of tax returns and provide ongoing support and opportunities for professional development to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading client engagements and working closely with a Partner as a senior team member on tax planning work for clients
  • Planning and organizing teams for the preparation of tax returns and conducting and presenting tax research
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness and providing feedback for improvement
  • Becoming part of the tax engagement team in servicing the planning and compliance needs of clients
  • Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff
  • Working with other office members in attracting new work to the firm

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in a public accounting firm, at least 3 years in a dedicated Tax role
  • Professional Accounting Designation
  • Completed, or nearly completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Course
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
  • Excellent client service skills with the ability to understand the clients' business needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism in the performance of duties
  • Emphasis on quality and adding value in client offerings and services
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
  • Able to instill enthusiasm in others to achieve desired results and provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questions
