Position Overview

The Procurement Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Supply Chain Manager by adhering to established protocols within a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) framework. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals aspiring to build a career in Supply Chain Management and who possess relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the procurement processes for various materials
  • Generate purchase orders in response to demand
  • Identify and source hard-to-find items
  • Prepare requests for proposals and bids
  • Assist in negotiation processes under guidance
  • Provide expedite reports to suppliers
  • Maintain accurate delivery timelines within the MRP system
  • Assess supplier performance metrics
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers
  • Deliver analytics and track cost savings
  • Contribute to group procurement strategies
  • Monitor and report on cost savings initiatives
  • Support data collection efforts for estimation purposes
  • Execute tactical procurement duties

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in similar roles
  • APICS certification is advantageous
  • A degree or diploma in Material or Supply Chain Management is preferred
  • Understanding of procurement regulations
  • Proficient in MRP systems and general computer skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
