Job Summary:
Home and Community Care Support Services North East is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients in their respective environments to maximize their function, independence, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes, schools, or communities.
- Assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans to promote independence and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, standards of practice, and professional guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams through various means.
Requirements:
- Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational therapy services and community resources.
- Good understanding of healthcare professionals' roles and responsibilities.
- Relevant occupational therapy experience in a community or healthcare environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy tools, processes, equipment, and assistive technology.
- Knowledge of funding agencies related to occupational therapy recommendations.
- Practical knowledge of relevant legislation and professional guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize professional duties, manage multiple patients, and organize workload efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work with diverse patient groups and healthcare teams.
- Effective listening, observation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to communicate information effectively through various means.
- Working knowledge of computer software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Advanced oral and written proficiency in English and French.
