The Métis Nation British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Métis Rights: Regulatory Affairs to lead the development and implementation of an internal referrals process for Consultation and Accommodation work. This process will be informed by the organization's internal Métis rights work and will be centered on the distinctive rights of Métis people in BC.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advocating for Métis interests and rights in BC, developing and nurturing mutually respectful relationships with Métis Chartered Communities, federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government, stakeholders, and other organizations. This position will work closely with the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Food Security and the Ministry of Economic Development, Partnerships and Tourism to update Consultation Guidelines and create strong process-oriented engagement tables.
The Ministry of Rights is an independent ministry at MNBC that is expanding in responsibilities and capacity. The Manager will work closely with the Director of Métis Rights, Negotiations, and Justice and the Senior Manager of Métis Rights to provide expert management and advice on this work in a collaborative manner. This is a dynamic role that empowers innovative solutions by working independently and collectively with a strong and growing team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an internal referrals process for Consultation and Accommodation work
- Advocate for Métis interests and rights in BC
- Develop and nurture mutually respectful relationships with Métis Chartered Communities, federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government, stakeholders, and other organizations
- Update Consultation Guidelines and create strong process-oriented engagement tables
