We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Paving Specialist to contribute to our operations at Holcim. The Asphalt Paving Specialist will be tasked with the operation of heavy machinery for the purpose of paving various surfaces, including roads and driveways, utilizing asphalt or concrete. This position demands expertise in machinery handling, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate heavy paving machinery to apply asphalt or concrete on diverse surfaces such as roads and parking areas.
• Regulate the depth and uniformity of the asphalt or concrete being applied.
• Monitor the performance of the machinery and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal paving results.
• Coordinate with truck drivers delivering materials to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Assess the quality and finish of paved surfaces, making modifications as required.
• Conduct routine maintenance on paving equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Collaborate with fellow team members to guarantee the efficient and timely execution of paving projects.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications and Attributes:
• Proven experience in operating paving machinery, including asphalt pavers and rollers.
• Familiarity with asphalt and concrete paving methods and materials.
• Capability to operate heavy machinery in a safe and effective manner.
• Strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Keen attention to detail in monitoring and adjusting machinery settings.
• Physical stamina to operate machinery for extended periods.
• Excellent coordination and spatial awareness for precise equipment maneuvering.
• Openness to working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
