About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As an Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and troubleshooting on our equipment to ensure ongoing reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service and preventive maintenance on all equipment following department procedures and trade best practices.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and maintain accurate repair parts and work records on our computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO).
  • Perform repairs with minimal supervision and take responsibility for overseeing that the job is complete within time demands.
  • Provide information on equipment and system problems to the maintenance supervisor and provide updates as required.
  • Train and mentor apprentices in mechanical and job-specific skills.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright (Ontario Certificate of Qualification #433A).
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet and stand for long periods with occasional laying, stooping, and crouching.
  • Fabrication experience and ability to weld in all positions.
  • Demonstrated skills/experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and machinery/repair/overhaul & troubleshooting skills with material handling equipment.

Assets

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship (Ontario or Canadian equivalent).
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems, Beumer Sorter systems, and Maximo CMMS.
  • Strong skills using MS Office (Excel, Word) or AutoCAD.
