Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at the McAsphalt Langley Facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hot oil heater and other industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor and maintain the hot oil heater and other industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  2. Offload and load trucks coming to the plant, and control the heat of the tanks using hot oil heaters.
  3. Manufacture asphaltic products and load and offload tankers as required.
  4. Operate mobile equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
  5. Follow all standard operating procedures and policies established by the McAsphalt Operations department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Power Engineer education with a valid 4th class steam ticket.
  • Previous experience with high pressure boilers is a strong asset.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work in small teams.
  • A reliable method of transportation to and from work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, being responsible, resourceful and autonomous.
  • Ability to work outdoors, at height and in all environments.
  • Experience with pumps, piping, heat tracing, hot oil heaters will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications in English with a strong interpersonal attitude.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate level with strong organizational skills.
