Emterra Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety/Project Manager - Construction to join our team. As a key member of our Safety Team, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a proactive safety culture within our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives for construction projects.
- Provide leadership and support to operational managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of safety data and trends.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and communication.
- Assist with contractor selection and due diligence to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Provide training and coaching to employees on health and safety procedures and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging safety trends, methods, and practices affecting our industry.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a health and safety role or construction/project management.
- CRSP designation or in the process of certification.
- National Construction Safety Office certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Strong legislative expertise with respect to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Proven ability to coach and influence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite.
