Position Overview

The Lead Pastry Chef is pivotal in overseeing the daily functions of the Pastry Kitchen. This role serves as the primary contact for Commis Chefs and Demi Chefs, guiding them in their culinary growth.

  • Assess the daily production requirements with the team
  • Prepare and, when necessary, assign the creation of various food items
  • Engage in the mentorship of culinary techniques to junior staff members
  • Adhere to recipes and presentation standards, accommodating special dietary needs as required
  • Ensure that all opening and closing procedures for the station are executed to standard
  • Support the implementation of Health & Safety regulations, maintaining a clean and secure workspace for all team members

Required Qualifications

  • Culinary diploma with a minimum of 3 years of pastry experience, including expertise in bread making and chocolate artistry
  • Proven experience in both small and large-scale baking operations
  • Prior experience in a leadership capacity within a kitchen environment
  • Valid food safety certification
