Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within a designated territory. This role involves collaborating with potential clients to assess the strengths and weaknesses of their current life safety service programs. The manager will work alongside a team of operators to formulate and execute effective sales strategies tailored to individual or bundled solutions. This position is pivotal in the strategic selling process, effectively communicating value to address client challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively pursue new business prospects through targeted outreach and networking to secure initial meetings with decision-makers.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks, assisting clients in budgeting for lifecycle projects while minimizing costly emergency service calls.
  • Create and present pricing options for service and maintenance agreements, aiding clients in future budget planning.
  • Establish and nurture strong business relationships aimed at earning client trust, achieving their objectives, and delivering value-added solutions.
  • Utilize financial and lifecycle analysis tools to quantify value from the client's perspective.
  • Produce and deliver compelling proposals through professional presentations that lead to contract signings.
  • Engage in sales and industry training, translating knowledge into tangible sales results.
  • Collaborate with operations and sales team members to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
  • Enhance understanding of applicable codes relevant to our life safety programs.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all sales activities in our CRM system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant sales experience is necessary.
  • Experience in facilities services or business solution sales directly to end-users is preferred.
  • Technical expertise or aptitude is highly desirable, particularly in life safety and security, including fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and suppression systems.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills are essential for engaging with various audiences, including executives.
  • Proven ability to lead customer engagements and manage the entire sales cycle.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to maintain existing client sales and facilitate additional business opportunities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and departments.
  • Exceptional writing skills for crafting detailed and persuasive sales proposals.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple proposals and processes simultaneously.
  • Motivated for professional, personal, and financial growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms is required.
