Your Role at WJS Canada

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives. You will work closely with them in both group home and private home settings, providing guidance, support, and encouragement.

  • Support and Empowerment: Guide and support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health issues &/or FASD in a group home or private home setting.
  • Positive Role Modeling: Model socially appropriate behaviors for both the individual and the wider community.
  • Medical Assistance: Administer medical administration or first aid, strictly adhering to prescribed procedures.

Training and Development:

WJS Canada is committed to your professional growth. You will receive comprehensive training in areas such as:

  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention
  • First Aid
  • Suicide Prevention
  • And other relevant skills

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in fields such as educational assistance, healthcare aid, social services work, or youth work.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clear criminal record and social services intervention check
