Job Title: Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at WJS Canada.

About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illness. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide support and assistance with daily living tasks, personal care, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, grooming, and household chores.
  • Support individuals with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Encourage participation in community activities, such as vocational, recreational, and leisure activities.
  • Drive individuals to appointments, day programs, and community events.
  • Provide support and assistance with lifts and transfers.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with developmental disabilities or mental illness.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
  • Skills in coaching and assisting individuals with life skills, anger management, and daily chores.
  • Committed to philosophies and principles of community-based living.
  • Good computer skills and ability to maintain electronic files.
  • CPR/First Aid and Abuse Protocol training.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
