Job Summary:
The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Youth Wellness Initiative, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and expansion of our mental health programs for youth aged 8-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the growth and development of our Youth Wellness Initiative, including the expansion of our mental health programs and services.
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement evaluation strategies, track participation, and monitor program outcomes.
- Provide administrative support, including updating spreadsheets, organizing supplies, and collecting program evaluations.
- Develop and implement marketing and recruitment strategies to promote our mental health programs and services.
- Facilitate training for new staff and partnerships, and maintain a positive and inclusive team environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a mental health field, such as Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work.
- Master's degree in mental health or Counselling related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience conducting intakes and assessments, and leading group mindfulness practices.
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate, and First Aid/CPR-C certification.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

- Service Strategy: Ability to identify the needs and wants of members/participants as a priority and respond in an effective and timely manner to enhance every person's YMCA experience.

- Problem Solving: Ability to identify an issue, gather and process relevant information, determine possible solutions, select appropriate responses, and implement and evaluate them.

- Community Awareness and Understanding: Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the vision, mission, and values of the organization.
- Self-Management: Ability to appropriately manage one's own emotions and strong feelings, maintain a calm and tactful composure under a broad range of challenging circumstances, and think clearly and stay focused under pressure.
- Teamwork/Cooperation: Ability to work cooperatively and productively with others within and across organizational units to achieve common goals.
