About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at BQ INTERNATIONAL LTD. as a Senior Resource. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implement Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  2. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Enterprise Analytics team, DT&S, and Business leaders to create and maintain ELT processes, assemble large datasets, and consult on data and information management practices.
  3. Identify and Implement Process Improvements: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
  4. Build Data Infrastructure: Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and other technologies.
  5. Support Data-Related Technical Issues: Work with stakeholders, including the Executive, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  6. Develop Data Tools: Create data tools for analytics and data science team members that assist them in building and optimizing our business.
  7. Monitor and Understand Information Management Trends: Monitor and understand Information Management trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements
  1. Education: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Engineering, Data Sciences, or other quantitative discipline.
  2. Experience: 5+ years' experience in ETL, data design, data architecture, data management, and data modelling.
  3. Technical Skills: Expert proficiency with SQL Server and SSIS is required. Experience with Python, big data tools, and cloud services is considered an asset.
  4. Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of data management as laid out by the Data Management Association (DAMA) and the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK). Ability to communicate technical information effectively in an easy-to-understand language.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. North American Job Experience: North American job experience is considered an asset.
  2. Cloud Services: Experience with cloud services is considered an asset.
