Certified Orthotic Practitioner

As a vital member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Certified Orthotist plays a crucial role in delivering a wide array of clinical interventions for both pediatric and adult patients. This position demands a high level of expertise in clinical decision-making, creativity, and interpersonal skills, alongside a commitment to professional growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Certified Orthotist is responsible for:
- Providing clinical leadership in complex cases, ensuring evidence-informed care.
- Working autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to address challenging clinical scenarios.
- Mentoring and guiding students and colleagues, fostering their professional development.
- Participating in clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings as necessary.
- Delivering services across the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio as required.
We invite candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Possession of the Certified Orthotist designation from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Excellent communication, observational, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to function effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Capability to critically assess data and identify treatment needs with a patient-centered focus.
- Understanding of privacy legislation and a commitment to safeguarding personal health information.
- Proficiency in additional languages is an asset, with French being preferred.
This is a permanent, full-time role requiring 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly wage for this position is $44.23. Successful candidates may also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Additionally, there may be opportunities for a signing bonus and relocation assistance, subject to a defined Return of Service contract.
