Job Scope

As a Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining software solutions that enhance our MPD technology. Your responsibilities will encompass various stages of the software development lifecycle, from understanding client requirements to delivering robust and maintainable code.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Petroleum/Drilling Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in software development using Python, Qt, QML, and JavaScript
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles in Python
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Familiarity with data analysis libraries such as NumPy and Pandas
  • Previous experience in rig site operations, particularly MPD, is highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of design patterns
  • Experience with visualization libraries like Matplotlib and Dash/Plotly
  • Experience with QML programming language
  • Previous experience in data science or machine learning is a plus
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as an E.I.T or P.Eng.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct research to translate complex drilling engineering concepts into functional software code
  • Develop accurate, clean, readable, maintainable, and modular code
  • Analyze software requirements and produce clear technical documents and reports related to software development
  • Actively participate in supporting the sales team during client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide support to engineers and field crews regarding in-house software
  • Debug software issues and modify existing program modules to enhance maintainability
