The Supply Chain Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that our organization can effectively acquire raw materials, produce goods, manage inventory, and deliver finished products to customers. This position involves analyzing relevant data and implementing strategies to maintain timely production while enhancing the efficiency of the supply chain system. The Supply Chain Manager is also responsible for fostering high performance among team members and reducing overall production costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and coordinates all activities related to sourcing and procurement of materials and supplies to meet fluctuating product demand.
- Manages strategic purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, and receiving operations.
- Selects optimal transportation routes to maximize cost-effectiveness through shipment consolidation.
- Analyzes logistics data to enhance supply chain performance.
- Negotiates partnerships to improve Return on Investment (ROI).
- Engages with suppliers and distributors to strengthen market positioning.
- Establishes performance metrics for evaluating supply chain factors, including product cost and quality.
- Collaborates with sales, manufacturing, and customer service teams to implement new or improved supply chain processes for enhanced efficiency and performance.
- Identifies primary supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and proposes solutions for process enhancements, addressing bottlenecks in a timely manner.
- Reviews existing procedures to discover opportunities for streamlining operations to better meet material supply needs, production timelines, and distribution schedules.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with vendors, collaborating with finance, sales, and manufacturing teams to select the best suppliers and distributors.
- Supervises the activities of Procurement Managers, Shipping & Receiving team members, Parts Assistants, and Inventory Control staff.
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Supply Chain Manager role.
- Proficient in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP MM, AP Modules, SAP Plant Maintenance).
- Strong understanding of the impact of supply chain management on organizational success.
- Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, facilitation, analytical, and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a similar relevant field is preferred.
Must be capable of bending, squatting, crouching, and/or reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds or more as required. Some roles may involve driving for extended periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions. All duties must adhere to safety policies and guidelines.
