This role involves producing various media items, including short films, documentaries, audio messages, and videos in multiple formats.

The Media Production Coordinator will edit and create short videos to enhance our social media presence and strengthen Islamic Relief Canada's brand identity.

By attending events and capturing testimonial videos, this position will contribute to increasing brand awareness and promoting Islamic Relief Canada as the charity of choice.

Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with the Marketing team to produce campaign-specific videos.
  • Creating advertisements and assets in various formats on a monthly basis, including social media content.
  • Engaging with the community to capture testimonial videos as directed by the marketing department.
  • Developing ad hoc videos, either by filming new content or modifying existing footage.
  • Utilizing expertise in computer software editing programs and video equipment such as cameras, microphones, and lighting.
  • Providing direction and editing support to freelance videographers for overflow projects.
  • Exercising leadership and making informed decisions for the video production team.

Qualifications include:

  • A college diploma or university degree in Media, Broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2-3 years of full-time experience with a company or 4-5 years of freelance experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other media software (PremierePro, AfterEffects, Davinci, etc.).
  • A creative self-starter comfortable with both independent initiative and collaborative work.
  • Familiarity with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Meta, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Multi-lingual abilities are considered an asset.
