About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our climate control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, clean, repair, replace, install, and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, and associated systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including checking AHUs for noise, vibration, leaks, and performance, and verifying BAS system functionality.
  • Coordinate maintenance planning and scheduling for HVAC equipment, including emergency work and repairs.
  • Order necessary parts and materials, including filters, belts, and cleaning supplies.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and rectify issues within your skillset and experience.
  • Assist other team members with maintenance and project requests as required.
  • Operate handheld devices and maintenance software for performing and recording work requests.
  • Adhere to departmental standards for quality and performance, and comply with relevant safety procedures and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance
  • Registered member in good standing with Skilled Trades BC
  • 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (commercial)
  • Valid ODP Certification
  • G1 Gas Technician license
  • Strong familiarity and comfort with central chiller plants and controls
  • Familiarity with commercial restaurant refrigeration systems is preferred
  • Able to perform various maintenance tasks within your skillset and experience
  • Ability to gather information, accurately assess issues, seek support, and take direction as necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly develop working relationships with a broad range of individuals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and comfort working alone
  • Familiarity working within a healthcare facility is preferred
